Ancient Greek mythological literature might have influenced the story in the novel Jurassic Park through the use of frightening creatures. The ancient Greeks had the most terrifying monsters and creatures in their mythology that would range from Dragons, Ghosts to other creatures with multiple forms such as Sphinx, Chimaera, etc. In addition they also had other creatures such as the winged horse known as Pegasus and others such as the Phoenix and the Unicorns. These creatures could have played a role in introducing the scary dinosaurs in the novel.
