Heat on Earth moves by radiation, conduction, and convection. Radiation occurs when heat moves as energy moves. These are called infrared waves. Conduction is when heat becomes a form of energy by coming in contact with matter and making the atoms and molecules move. The moving atoms or molecules move and bump into other atoms or molecules, which makes them move, and heat is transferred. Convection happens when a flowing substance is heated in the presence of gravity.
