so you want the denominator to be the same. you would multiply the denominators all together like so,

that all equals the same denominator of 120. now what you do to the bottom you have to do to the top
1 x 3 x 8=24
2 x 5 x 8=80
5 x 3 x 8=120
now you have to put in on top of the denominator
1/5=24/120 simplified to 1/5
2/3=80/120 simplified to 2/3
5/8=120/120 simplified to 1
