African empires of kush and aksum adopted Egyptian culture. They had Egyptian neighbors, so almost all that is known Kush comes from Egyptian sources. They adopted many of their costumes, such as worshipping some Egyptian gods, mummifying their dead and building their own sorts of pyramids. They also operated a lucrative market in iron, incense, ivory and gold.
