Compare the words mistrust and distrust . How are they alike? How are they different?

Mistrust means: be suspicious of; have no confidence in.
Distrust means: the feeling that someone or something cannot be relied on.

Both are talking about how something can't be trusted, however,
distrust is often based on experience or reliable information, while mistrust is often a general sense of unease toward someone or something.

Hope this helps!
