"Blitzkrieg" was the mobile motorizes warfare tactic that allowed Germany to overwhelm Poland in World War II. Blitzkrieg allowed many quick defeats because it used many motorized weapons, like tanks, to scatter enemy lines, with air support waiting overhead to finish off the fleeing army. It was extremely effective for several years.
