An isosceles triangle so
<A = <B = 34

4y = 180 - (2*34)
4y = 180 - 68
4y = 112
y = 28

answer
y = 28

in case you need to find x

x - 5 = 34
x = 39

Answer: The value of y is 28.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given figure it is noticed that in triangle ABC the sides AC and BC are equal and ABC is an isosceles triangle.

We know that in an isosceles triangle the base angles are same. In the given figure the base is AB and base angles are angles A and B. So,

\angle A=\angle B

34=x-5

x=39

And the angles A and B are 34 degree.

According to the angle sum property of a triangle the sum of interior angles of a triangle are 180 degree.

\angle A+\angle B+\angle C=180

34+34+4y=180

4y=180-68

4y=112

y=28

Therefore the value of y is 28.
