Why could the rate of heating influence the melting point?

because if something heats faster it may heat hotter and make the melting point alter

melting is a phrase transition in which a substance passes through solid to liquid state. in principle, the melting temperature is independent of the heating rate. very pure substances are used for this purpose because their melting temperatures are accurately known.
