Answer: It is primarily attributed to human interventions.

The current extinction rate refers to the extinct of plant, human and animal species due to human induced changes in the natural environment. Examples are deforestation, nuclear explosion, explosion of natural gases, forest fire and other processes. These processes generally are responsible for extinction of large number of species in a single event. The left over species are not tolerated to changes after these events their survival rate also decline with time. Therefore, current extinctions are more drastic then natural disasters like earthquake, drought and landslides and these are primarily attributed to human interventions.
