To convert a fraction to percent, divide the numerator (which also means top number) by the denominator (which also means bottom number). Example: To convert the fraction 3/4 to percent, divide 3 (top number) by 4 (bottom number) and the answer is.75.

Step 1: You want to remove the percent sign and then put the number over 100.

Step 2: If the percent is not a whole number then you want to multiply the top and bottom number by 10 but only for every number that comes after the decimal point.

Step 3: Always simplify if possible.

Examples:

43% =
(43)/(100)

78% =
(78)/(100) =
(39)/(50)

0.4% =
(0.4)/(100) =
(4)/(1000) =
(1)/(250)
