Why does Fred say he has nothing against Scrooge in the Christmas carol?

Fred says that Scrooge should accept the holiday just how it is.

Fred says he has nothing against Scrooge in the Christmas Carol, because that was how Scrooged acted on a daily basis, and he only wished that Scrooge would open up and accept Christmas as it is.

His words came true at the end, when Scrooge learns his lesson from the Ghosts, and finally opens up to caring for others and celebrating... Christmas.
