plot points through plugging in a "x" to generate a "y".
y = 4x - 2
when x = 0, y = -2 (because 4 x 0 = 0, 0 - 2 = -2)
when x = 1, y = 2 (because 4 x 1 = 4, 4 - 2 = 2)
when x = 2, y = 6 (because 4 x 2 = 8, 8 - 2 = 6)
when x = 3, y = 10 (because 4 x 3 = 12, 12 - 2 = 10)
so and and so forth
after you find the points, connect the dots, and you will get your graph
