Of the 18 women who were aboard the Mayflower, 78% percent died during the first winter. Five women survived, but one of the women, Katherine Carver, died shortly after. Only four women survived to celebrate and prepare thanksgiving in 1621. These women were Eleanor Billington, Elizabeth Hopkins, Mary Brewster, and Susanna (White) Winslow.
