The facial nerve is associated with the geniculate sensory ganglia. One of the six segments where the path of the facial never can be divided into is the labyrinthine segment. It is very short and ends where the racial never forms a bend that is called as the geniculum of the facial nerve. This nerve contains the geniculate ganglion for sensory nerve bodies.
