What is the equation of a line in point slope form that passes through (-2, -6) and has a slope of 1/3?

what you have to do is get it in y=mx+b form but first you could use the equation y-y1=m (x-x1) you have y+6=1/3(x+2)
you get the +6 And +2 because its a negative number then you distribute 1/3 so you multiply it by x and 2 getting y+6=1/3x+2/3
Then subtract 2/3 by 6 and get y=1/3x-16/3
