One of the Constitutional Principles is Separation of Powers which lets us know what powers each of the branches possess. It lets the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches know which powers they have. Beyond Separation of Powers, the branches are able to check and balance each other to make sure that not one branch becomes too powerful. It is important to understand that each branch has different powers and responsibilities.
