I like how the author used the truck to represent freedom. It's the only way for Charles to get away from everything, and I can relate to that because I just got my driver's license.
SALIM:
I can see how a truck or a license could symbolize freedom to you, but in the book I think it's just the opposite. Didn't Charles hate his job as a delivery driver? It seems to me that the truck was chaining him to a life he hated.
