Alveoli are the terminal air sacs of the lungs, and are the sites of gas exchange between the lungs and blood. How does the surface area-to-volume ratio of the cells of alveolar walls relate to their function? please hurry.

Alveoli are specifically designed to quickly facilitate the exchange of gas from the lungs to the blood. They are very small, but with a very high surface area allowing a greater amount of gases to be exchanged in a comparatively short period of time.
