The bill of rights gave more power to the people. It also prevented the federal government from becoming too big. Anti-federalists were against a strong government, and the bill of rights reduced government power.

The addition of the Bill of Rights was a compromise, easing some of their concerns. The anti-federalists were against the Constitution, feeling is gave too much power to the federal government.
