a place to spend the night is an infinitive phrase.We know so as we see the use of to before the verb which is in its base form.Then the correct answer is option A.It is not appositive as it does not provide additional information and it is not between commas.It is not prepositional because the to is required for its infinitive use .It is not a gerund as the verb is not in ING form.
