How do natural selection and adaptation play a role in evolution ?

They both strengthen the ecosystem. Natural selection takes out the weak and then adaptation strengthens the strong ones that are already strong. they get even better because now they are able to live in this "newer" enviornment

This process is natural selection. The traits that confer an advantage to those individuals who leave more offspring are called adaptations. In order for natural selection to operate on a trait, the trait must possess heritable variation and must confer an advantage in the competition for resources.
