So, when the European explorer's came to America, they brought new diseases that the Native Americans were not immune to. These diseases such as smallpox, influenza, measles, and chicken pox were deadly to the Native American population because of the fact that they were not immune to them. Sometimes as a result of this, whole villages would perish in a short time. Some experts believe that almost 90% of the Native American population was killed off.
