In the first equation we can find the value of X:

3/4 x X - 3/4 x 12 = 12
3/4X - 9= 12
3/4 X = 12+9
X= 21÷ 3/4 = 21 x 4/3 = 28

In the second equation we find the value of y

3/4y= 12+12
y= 24 ÷ 3/4 = 24x 4/3 = 32
