The Rosetta Stone was found in Egypt in 1799 by one of the soldier’s of Napoleon Bonaparte’s army, and it contained Egyptian hieroglyphics, and a couple of other languages on that rock. It is important, because it helped archaeologists crack the Egyptian hieroglyphics and learn things about Ancient Egypt that we otherwise wouldn’t know.
