Please help - US History

How did the miners help settle the west?

A. They provided gold for everyone, including those they traveled with.
B. As they mined, they stayed and settled towns.
C. They did nothing special.
D. In order to help financially with mining, they herded cattle on the land.
E. During their breaks from mining the land, they helped build railroads.

The answer is B bc when they were at home they helped build and produce a booming town from spending money there, so those towns grew.

It’s either B or C for sure, I say B. They didn’t give out gold, it was too valuable. They didn’t herd cattle either. And they didn’t take breaks to build railroads.
