We must do the work inside parentheses first. Thus,
6*2 + (1/4) (4 +12)
12 + (1/4)(16) = 12 + 4 = 16

Solve everything in the parenthesis first.
(6)*2 + 1 / 4(4 - 18 + 30)
12 + 1 / 4 (16)
13 / 64
Hope this helps!
