Any case of neglect is terrible. I do not think there is much of a difference between elder abuse and child abuse. In both cases, the person is in some way reliant on their abuser. In the case of a child, they are stuck with their parents and are unable to just pick up and leave. In the case of an elder being abused, they are often in the same situation. Through disability or financial reasons, they cannot just venture out on their own. A case of abuse is no different, whether it is a child being abused or an elderly person.
