How did whales evolve from land mammals? Reason

They slowly and gradually evolved over time from a different mammal into what they are today. Their vestigial structures (as the other person pointed out) are remnants of parts of the ancestral mammal’s body, and are proof of the evolution. The other person who answered provided a picture that displays it.
