The appropriate answer would be e. sub tropical desert. Arid and semi-arid regions get very little rainfall per year. The plants in theses regions must have special adaptations to reduce water loss or to live in dry areas. These plants have very small leaves to reduce water loss through transpiration. Some, such as cactus have evolved to loose leaves altogether. They instead have thorns.
