the numbers will be X and Y with X being the lesser
x+y=45
2y=5x+6
now use a subtraction method to solve
x+y=45
y=45-x

2 (45-x)=5x+6
90-2x=5x+6
-7×=-84
x=12

y=45-12
y=33
so, x=12 and y=33
