So first you know that y=5x, then put this in the first equation instead of y, so it will be 5x=4x+24, and you just move the 4x to the other side of the equation, and you get 5x-4x=24, and finally, x=24.

Set up a new equation of 5x=4x+24 and solve it should be x=24
