The Treaty of Paris of 1783, negotiated between the United States and Great Britain, ended the revolutionary war and recognized American independence. The Continental Congress asked John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Laurens to negotiate.
