a constitution not embodied in a single document but based chiefly on custom and precedent as expressed in statutes and judicial decisions.

The unwritten constitution are the parts of the government that are an essential part of the system but they are not included in the constitution. These are customs citizens have been doing for years so everyone thinks they are laws but they are actually not.
