Because plants do not have skeletons, what accounts for their rigidity?

The cell walls of plants are very rigid. In addition, the turgor pressure of the water pressing against those cell walls keeps them firm. As water flows through the membranes of the cell walls, the difference in pressure allows these cells to stay in shape.
