Halite also known as rock salt, is a naturally occurring salt and mineral in the earth. The chemical formula of halite is repeating unit of NaCl. The bond that exist between an NaCl is ionic bonding. By definition, Ionic bonding is the union of a metal and a nonmetal. Thus the mineral Halite has Ionic bonds which form a cubic crystal lattice.
