A wooden crate is a cube with edge lengths of 18 inches. The crate contains tiny plastic tubes with edge lengths of 3 inches. How many plastic cubes can fit inside the wooden crate. PLEASE EXPLAIN

The number of plastic cubes which fit into the create

= volume of the crate / volume of one plastic cube.

= 18^3 / 3^3 = 5832 / 27 = 216 Answer

18^3 = 5832 (volume of crate)

3^3 = 27 ( volume of small cubes)

5832/27 = 216 cubes ( divide volumes to get number of cubes)
