What is the value of x? 3/ 4 x+5− 1 /2 x=3           please help

Subtracting 5 from both sides, we get 3x/4-x/2=-2. Next, we can multiply both sides by 8 (since 4*2=8) to get 6x-4x=-8=2x. Dividing both sides by 2, we get x=-4
