The government has remained largely uninvolved in regulating the economy. do you support the government's laissez-faire business policies? why or why not?

Assuming this is a hypothetical situation, I don't support a laissez-faire approach to the conduct of business in an economy. I believe that if a government has been elected on the basis of providing for the social needs of its population like say the government of Bolivia, then it needs to give strong direction to the economy to ensure this happens. If it is just left to the capitalist companies to do as they please then most likely they will just try to maximize profits and not care about the consequences to the general population as long as they can get away with it.
