Angela Davis was one of the Black Power movement's most outspoken people.

Davis was a suporter of the Soledad brothers. The Soledad brothers gained control of a courtroom in Marin County, California on August 7, 1970. They took a judge, the prosecutor, and three female jurors hostage. After police involvement, the judge and the three brothers were killed. Davis had cooresponded with the brothers often and had purchased the shotgun used to shoot the judge in the head just two days before the hostage sitaution occured. She was charged and acquitted for these four murders.
