In a response of two-three sentences, explain how the following lines contribute to Beowulf’s characterization as a hero.

“The liege-kinsman worthy
Of Higelac minded his speech of the evening, Stood he up straight and stoutly did seize him. His fingers crackled; the giant was outward, the earl stepped farther.”

These lines show how heroic Beowulf really is. "Stood he up straight and stoutly did seize him." This line in the text explains how Beowulf stepped up to the giant. "The earl stepped farther." saying that the giant was afraid and stepped back and fled, showing that Beowulf was a mighty man that was not afraid, not even of a giant.
