The formula for an object's final velocity is f=i−gt. Solve for t.

Since t is multiplied by g, you have to divide g from both sides to get t alone.

f / g = i - gt / g

f / g = i - t

Since t is subtracted from i, you have to add i to both sides.

f / g + i = i - t + i

f / g + i = t
