4x + 13 = -8 - 3x
4x + 3x = -8 - 13
7x = -21
x = -3

Add 3x to both sides
7x+13=-8
Subtract 13 from both sides
7x=-21
Divide both sides by 7
x=-3
Final answer: x=-3
