How was life when king Hammurabi ruled the babylonians ??

Life was very much, "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", due to Hammurabi's code. The laws were based off of revenge rather than justice. Basically controled anarchy. His reign was very successful, so much so, that some parts of his code even influence modern law.
