William Jennings Bryan delivered a speech called "Cross of Gold" at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in 1896. It could be said that the main idea was to convince people that an economy based on Gold Standard would not be a better economy but it should be a silver one. This is because there are more silver than gold and it is also cheaper
