The early civilizations in Asia were the Indus valley civilization and the Mesopotamian civilization which were well developed and particularly, the Indus valley civilization was an urban settlement. In comparison, the American civilizations like the Mayan and Incas were more tribal in character and lived more like a rural settlement until they were conquered by the Europeans.
