Why is it important for scientists to assign a single scientific name to each organisim?

It's important because there are many scientists that don't speak English and so in one country one word might mean another for example "Elephant" in English might mean "Dog" in Swahili but if a scientific name is given there is a specific guideline that ALL scientist will know no matter the language due to the classifications.
