We can multiply 16 by 3 (the only prime factor
of 24 not shared by 16), to find theLCM
: 3 * 16 = 48. The greatest common factor (GCF) is the greatest factor that is common to two or more

The gcf is the greatest common factor. The smallest number that can be divided by both 40 and 48.
