Why did andrew jackson support the indian removal act of 1830 answers?

Southerners wanted him to remove Native Americans from the South.

(Even though they were there first!)

Andrew Jackson thought that if the Cherokee stayed put they that would surely contribute to their extinction. He was thought to be sincere, in this act voted in 1830, that their displacement would be beneficial for them. He thought that moving them from Georgia would save them.
