The process of providing and measuring the correct full-time equivalent (fte), or complement, to adequately staff a given area is known as "position control".

Position Control alludes to an arrangement of tracking data dependent on positions as opposed to representatives. It makes a structure of positions for every one of the employments inside RIT without respect to whether there is an officeholder in a specific activity or not. Position control applies to all customary personnel and staff positions.

In this process information is tracked based on the specific position of the person , rather then on the employees. This process is responsible for creation, maintenance, and monitoring of positions.
