Monosaccharides are known by several words. It is known as glucose, fructose etc, but the actual word, or the secondary words we use for monosaccharides that we use more often is called "simple sugar". Monosaccharides are the basic unit of carbohydrates. It is a kind of a unit that cannot be further broken down.
